The Success Story of LitFire Publishing in the 2016 Bologna Children’s Book Fair

The Bologna Children’s Book Fair (BCBF) is the most important annual gathering of children’s content professionals. From authors, illustrators, artists, publishers, literary agents, and many more, the BCBF welcomes all sorts of industry professionals from all over the world. Last April 4 to 7, the Bologna Fair Centre in Italy opened its doors to numerous foreign and local visitors for the 2016 Bologna Children’s Book Fair.

Fueling the Imagination

With fifty-three years of experience on its belt, the 2016 Bologna Children’s Book Fair once again succeeded in furthering its international reputation.

Compared to the previous year, this year’s BCBF saw an increase of 9.2 percent in the number of attendees, with 16.8 percent increase in the number of foreign guests and 4.1 percent in that of Italian guests.

More than twenty-five thousand authors, illustrators, and industry professionals went to participate in furthering children’s media in the “rights” place for children’s content.

LitFire Publishing reaches another milestone this year with our first participation in the prestigious 2016 Bologna Children’s Book Fair. Having been in the “rights” place for children’s content, we made sure to showcase several children’s book from our very own LitFire authors. We also took the opportunity to connect with various publishing professionals from illustrators to literary agents.

BCBF 2016 was also a wondrous place for learning with numerous seminars and master classes geared toward the development of children’s media. We were eager to soak in all the new information shared in these talks and trainings.

What’s Next for Us?

Filled with childlike excitement and energy after the Bologna Children’s Book Fair, LitFire will travel to Chicago to experience the largest publishing event in America, BookExpo America (BEA).

Together with our authors, we will be sharing our wide array of creative works with other valued authors, readers, and book traders. Join us in exploring the Windy City, Chicago, on May 11–13 at McCormick Place.
