This year, the annual BookExpo America (BEA) was held at the Javits Center in New York City, and even though it got mixed reviews from the goers, the huge trade event had been a blast for many book enthusiasts, writers, authors, bloggers, booksellers, agents, and book publishing companies – including us!

Based on tweets within the duration of the event, a lot of people got up at dawn and made their way to the venue as early as they can. According to the tweets we’ve read, going around the floor and lining up for the free book copies was exhausting and torturous to the feet, but it was worth it.

This year’s BEA had been filled with activities, such as book exhibits, book signings, conferences, forums, blogger meets, breakfasts, book group speed dating, and many more!

BEA goers did not only enjoy hoarding tons of books during the three-day book event, but also learned many new things about the global publishing industry since the expo also featured a delegation from China, the guest of honor in BEA’s Global Market Forum.

Wiley CEO, Mark Allin stated that China has achieved a lot to become a “global publishing and media leader” and his company is honored to be a partner throughout the years.

One of the many highlights of the event, and also a yearly favorite of the attendees, was the Book & Author Breakfasts. This segment featured famous authors who got to talk about their upcoming books. We hope to have our author clients up there someday, talking about their exciting new books and how they’ve become successful throughout the years.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Events like BEA make the publishing industry flourish as it is one of the most effective forms of book promotions to date. Having a spot at the event was a big milestone for our company since we’re somewhat new in the book publishing scene.

Our booth was in the Publishers’ Discovery Zone, where other new and upcoming publishers were. We were able to display a wide range of titles from different authors of various genres – from children’s books to thrillers to self-help to Christian to memoirs.

Some of the authors whose books we featured in our booth during the expo were JoAnn L. Hill, Keith Steinbaum, M.A. DuVernet, and Stan Carnarius. Author bookmarks, book posters, and t-shirts were displayed in our booth as well.

 

 

 

 

 

 

During the event, we had a number of our author clients participate in separate meet-and-greet and book signing sessions. This BEA activity is a great way to let authors and readers meet, discuss ideas, and show appreciation towards one another.

Our featured authors included Michael Richard Stosic of Thirty-Nine Days and Carol Cowan-Lanyon of Miz Bambo. Their readers and other book enthusiasts patiently lined up to get an autographed copy of each of their books. For us, nothing could be more satisfying than seeing our author clients interact with their readers, old and new, and have a blast at the event!

It was a great experience to have finally met many of our author clients during the three-day event. We were able to get to know them better and discuss book promotion ideas. Plenty of aspiring authors who were looking for book publishing assistance came to visit our booth as well and our Marketing Manager, Richard Stephens, was more than happy to help!

It was a great experience hearing amazing stories from many talented individuals at the expo. Furthermore, these authors were able to take a peek at our book promotion services through our jam-packed booth itself.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The big event was not purely about the books, obviously. BookExpo America 2015 gave many individuals and groups in the book publishing industry a chance to interact, to learn, to educate, to build connections, and to grow and prosper.

The event helped us introduce our brand and our services to a bigger audience, and build a stronger bond with our existing clients. BEA 2015 was our first BEA experience and surely, it would not be the last!

 

 

 

 

 

 

BookExpo America had been held annually in New York City since 2009. However, next year it will take a different route and is set to be held in McCormick Place, Chicago on May 11 (Wednesday) to May 13 (Friday), 2016.
